St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne

This is a landmark building in Melbourne and the Senior Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church in Victoria. The architecture is going to interest people who like the Gothic revival style and the fascinating bluestone and sandstone used in the building, built in stages between 1858 and 1940.

St Patrick's is the tallest and largest Church building in Australia. The building in inspirational. The architecture is wonderful and the ground is clean and calming. This not the only reason to visit, but it is a great one. Regardless of your beliefs, this is a wonderful and historic building in Melbourne and a must see while in the CBD.

Beautiful Church, great architecture, excellence wood craftsmanship, carvings and stained glass windows. Wonderful way to spend an hour or two taking in all the little side chapels and history

The St Patrick's Cathedral just a walking distance (about 5-6 minutes away) from the Fitzroy Gardens and Parliament House.

The architecture is very nice and unique. It makes a great scenic background for this modern city and skyline.

I m just love this Cathedral. A wonderful place to stand and gaze it. Well worth the walk and a lots of beautiful scenery for photo opportunities.

The fountains on the side are nice. There are benches for people to relax after the long walk. The gardens have some lovely water features.

A number of statues surrounding the Church including Archbishop Mannix, St Mary MacKillop and Daniel O'Connell, etc.

It isn't just Europe that has magnificent Churches but in Melbourne, St Patricks Church was definitely worth a visit even you have no interest in religious.
