The shopping area at St Kilda has many colourful and fantastic collections of shops with many trendy desirable. The beach itself is really nothing to write and if you want to get away from city noise and overwhelming skyscrapers, St Kilda is the place to escape from all this.
St Kilda Pier
St Kilda Pier offers amazing views over to the city as well as along the both ends of the beach. We enjoyed a lovely walk along the pier and the breakwater. The weather was blustery but enjoyed the walk to the marina. If you want to see penguins, then you should come in the evening before sunset and its free.
Acland Street
Acland Street is a street in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda and it's famous for pastry shops selling a variety of pastries, cookies, cakes and other delicious snacks. Acland Street has an amazing atmosphere which is just humming and full of all different kinds of people. The tram goes right up the centre of the street.
Pastries Shops
We were walking passed Acland Street and came across this pastry shop "Le Bon Cake Shop". There is wide selection to choose from in the display window. We spent 5 minutes standing there, deciding what pastry we want to try. Finally, we decided to order Almond chocolate and Chocolate Vanilla. The taste yummy and sweet.
Luna Park
Luna Park Melbourne is Melbourne's ultimate family destination for fun. Ideally located next to St Kilda beach. Melbourne' Luna Park is a galaxy of amusements and sensations. From the jaw dropping, eye ball popping super thrill rides like the Pharaoh's Curse and the Enterprise, to the exhilarating rides like the Scenic Railway Roller Coaster, Twin Dragon and the Coney Island Top drop. Entrance to Luna Park is free, you pay if you wanna play any of the games. It;s more a family activity especially for kids.
